About this qualification
Aims and objectives:
The main aim of the VTCT Skills Level 2 Award in Eyebrow and Eyelash Treatments for Beauty Specialists is to enable learners to provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments. It covers the use of a variety of consultation techniques to establish the treatment and outcomes required by the client. You will need to be able to provide eyebrow shaping and artificial lash treatments using a variety of work techniques. You will also need to be able to tint eyebrows and lashes for clients with different colouring characteristics (i.e. fair, red, dark and white).
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and over and is designed to provide occupational competence at level 2.
Opportunities for Progression
Once learners have achieved the VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 2 Certificate for Beauty Specialists they may progress on to other VTCT Skills (ITEC) or equivalent qualifications at level 2 and 3 for example:
-Level 2 Diploma for Beauty Specialists
-Level 2 Certificate in Make-up
-Level 2 Certificate in Manicure and Pedicure
-Level 2 Certificate in Waxing
-Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments
-Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Techniques
-Level 3 Certificate in Facial Electrical Treatments
-Level 3 Diploma in Facial Electrical Treatments
-Level 3 Certificate in Fashion and Photographic Make-up

Relationship to National Occupational Standards:
This qualification has mapped to National Occupational Standards where they exist and has ensured that best practice in the workplace has been reflected in the qualification.
This qualification is linked to the relative job roles as well as ensuring that the qualification reflects the required level of knowledge and ability for the beauty specialist at level 2.
Duration: 8 Weeks
And an additional 6 hours of practice at home) You need to submit 2 before & after pictures, with completed consultation forms, to become a Certified Individual Lash Extension Technician.
Cost: €1,200 (Inquire about grant availability)
Start Dates: Sept, Tuesday 22nd.
Certification Provided.
Upon obtaining your professional insurance, you will be recognised as an Accredited Individual Lash Extension Technician.
This certification allows you to have your name and business details listed on the Associated Irish Therapists (AIT) website, the largest beauty membership platform in Ireland and the UK.
