Associated Beauty Therapists (ABT) provides accreditation for this pre-apprenticeship programme.

Insurance for this pre-apprenticeship is provided by Associated Irish Therapists (AIT). Through AIT membership, students are part of the largest beauty membership in Ireland and the UK. Benefits include free VIP membership to the Beauty Show in the RDS.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE IN THIS LASH EXTENSION PRE-APPRENTICESHIP

-3 Accredited certificates in Cluster (3-D-10-D lash clusters), Russian, and Individual lash technologies.

– A certificate in Personal & Professional Development.

-Membership with Associated Irish Therapists – the largest beauty membership in Ireland & the UK.

-Insurance with AIT, with individual student insurance packages of up to 6 million euros, and free professional legal advice if necessary.

-On completion of the pre-apprenticeship, students’ names can be listed as professionally trained lash extension technicians on the official AIT website.

-Students will gain practical hands-on training in a simulated workplace while also learning the theory of their industry in the classroom.

-Pre-apprenticeship training will provide students with valuable simulated work experience.

-Pre-apprenticeships are open to people of all ages and from all educational and employment backgrounds.

-Upon completing the training, students will earn an accredited lash extension qualification.

-Pre-apprenticeship allows employed people to upskill within their sector and still hold onto their job. It may lead to promotion within the company or upward progression within the sector.

WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN

Personal & professional development:

-Writing a current CV (Optional)
-Choosing a business name
-Registering a business name with the CRO (Company Registration Office)
-Registering a business name with ROS (Revenue Online Services)
-Building an online presence through FB, Instagram, TikTok
-Building an online professional web brochure (all optional, not included)

-Professionalism related to Beauty/Complementary or Sports Therapy, and explain the appropriate professional
-Preparation – student prepares herself and the client for professional treatment
-Consultation form
-Disclaimer form
-Aftercare advice form

Practical Work:

-Patch testing
-4/6-week individual eyelash extension technique
-2-week Russian Lash extension technique
-Strip lashes
-Health & safety when using Latex glue, semi-permanent glue, professional permanent lash glue
-Use of the oil-free Vegan lash shampoo & medium micro-wands
-Use micro-wands and lash combs
-Safely taping the bottom lashes down
-Mapping with under-eye patches
-Safe use of pointed tweezers
-Use of primer & appropriate micro-wand
-Use of bonder & appropriate micro-wand
-Removal technique

Portfolio of work:

Each student is required to produce a portfolio of evidence of work. It consists of 10 before & after pictures of their work, with completed and signed consultation, disclaimer, & aftercare advice form.

Items you will need at home:

Table (preferably with drawers to store your products that are sensitive to sunlight)
2 chairs (preferably an ergonomic chair for yourself to protect your back) Tech Tip*** Always mind your back! Your chair should be at the right height so that your knees and hips are at the right angles.
Table lamp with a bulb of at least 60 watts of white light
A selection of gel polish colours
A selection of nail art (diamonds, stickers, blooming gel etc.)
Tissues
Cotton wool
Cotton tips
Metal bin with a self-closing lid and bin bag inside
Small glass bowl

WEB BROCHURE WITH ALL YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

The final step after graduating from your nail course is connecting with your new customer base. This is optional. Our web designers have designed unique web brochure templates for successful AINT graduates, these web brochures are designed for students to project a professional image of their new business.

Here we link your Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and LinkedIn accounts centrally. Your new clients can visit your unique web brochure, follow all your social media links and price lists, and learn about you and your qualifications.

YOUR KIT

We care about the environment, all our liquid bottle containers are recyclable and refillable. We are 90% paperless, all your notes are uploaded to an easily accessible platform or emailed, then we go through them in class together. But, if you prefer paper notes, we can do that too, some people like to have notes in their hands to learn and we totally respect that too.
